Bill is president and founder of E-Ramp Inc. He has been a leader in the technical accommodation of persons for disabilities for over 10 years. He is an expert in web accessibility for persons with disabilities and has a solid foundation  in web based programming and Active Server Pages. He has taught Microsoft FrontPage web design and Network administration, along with other computer courses at Heritage College. He is currently working with the Canadian Government's Chief Information Office (CIO) to develop an Enterprise-Wide Architecture for Accessibility.

 

As the consultant for the Access for All through Technology interdepartmental taskforce, he provided a 170 page study and ongoing technical expertise to the project. The resulting recommendations of the "Lyrette Report" are currently in the process of leveling the playing field for all public service employees with disabilities.

 

He developed the Accessibility Action Plan for Industry Canada's Information Highway Applications Branch (IHAB) helping to facilitate not only an inclusive agenda, but an agenda of inclusion. Among other projects, he has provided the Technical Requirements Document for the development of a virtual Adaptive Computer Technology (ACT) Centre, installed a LAN-based TTY system to enhance services to hearing impaired clients, provided accessibility consulting services to public service webmasters through the Government of Canada's Web Accessibility Testing Service and provided customized extranet systems support to key initiatives such as the National Disability Agenda and the Access Working Group. He is a Certified Microsoft Professional.
